I wouldn't jump the gun just yet. All these guys have insiders for a reason. Info is leaked purposely. It's probably someone from Toronto trying to drive up Sign & Trade interest from other teams. It is a way to get better offers.

I agree. We will not know anything until tomorrow..until then, everything we say is all not true. Tomorrow, once its officially released as to where they are signing, THEN we can have serious discussions. But right now, its all hear say and rumors. And with the way things go in sports, Bosh, Wade, and Lebron could start their own team and play all the other NBA teams 3 on 5...and it wouldnt be a surprise..tomorrow should be interesting/exciting.

Yah but were talking about free agent SIGNINGS not what theyre making in year 4. There probably wont even be a year 4. All those guys are gonna have a 3rd year player option anyway so after the 10 yr mark they can opt out and get a max deal again.

Avery Johnson has got a .735 winning percentage. He took his team to the Finals. Didnt win but he got there. And its not like he did this for 1 yr then it was all down hill. He did it over almost 4 seasons and then called it quits. Theres alot of coaches that are good whos winning percentages dont even come close to that.
You gotta remember this. Both harris and lopez are young. Harris was 16.6 pts and 6 assists this year, but he also average 21 and 7 last year. Brooks lopez in only his 2nd year average almost 19 and 9 rebounds. Thats pretty impressive. Among Centers he was 2nd in Scoring, 6th in blocks, 10th in rebounds, 3rd in free throw pctg. and 2nd in minutes played which means hes durable. That doesnt impress you for a 2nd year player? Add in his 7ft 270 lbs frame. I think thats a great core. If they get 2 max deal guys a PF like (Bosh, boozer, david lee, amare, etc) and Lebron or Joe Johnson type of 2. They got a solid team. Just my $0.02 i guess

Those numbers count to me. They will matter in the future.

Regardless of where Lebron goes, the Nets new owner and Jay-Z win hands down in the campaign. Putting a billboard in new york is epic. And the sales pitch is pretty damn good.

depends on alot of things. Playoff contedor for sure. But it depends on the development of Lopez and Favors. Those guys can be one of the best front court duos in the NBA if they hit their ceiling. They both of the size and skill but will they progress and develop. It depends if they use that 30 million to get 1 big name and bolster their bench. If they do then in 3 yrs when the lakers are on their last legs (Which im a lakers fan) then these guys may have a big chance. My prediction. Remember the nets are not a horrible organization like the clippers, twolves, etc.

Favors is not a guaranteed star although he has potential. I think you are overrating Lopez. Good player, not great. Then again, I only use great with a potential HOFer.

They have a lot of competition in the East and don't have playoff experience. Big thing IMO. I don't see them getting past the Magic or Celtics with one major piece. We'll see what they do this off-season, it'll be an interesting, no doubt!

Shaq needs to retire and go back to making movies like Kazaam.

Just because the Nets' new owner is a billionaire, that doesn't make him a great NBA owner. He's not the only billionaire owner in the league either.

Looking at the cup of water half full...I'm sure they'll improve because they sure can't get any worse than last year.

I don't see them being anything near the same Nets with Jason Kidd. In several years, I can see them making the first or second round during the Playoffs, but that's about it.

Hopefully the shift levels out in the east because for the last few seasons, the spots for the Playoffs in the west were ridiculously close.
