No. Even not the door!


As many guys think, that violence ist much better than reading the above solution, the eBay parts mostly are damaged. There is neither a latch nor a door available as spare part. And don't underestimate the amount of work to replace the complete bulkhead!

That's what it seems like. I followed the instructions and pulled the latch mechanism out, to see the broken latch piece can be replaced quite easily.

I'll just have to be patient, and see if I can source one from a totaled car as soon as one pops up.

I had the same issue with that door.

It took a lot of work and I broke the latch, but I got it open. I went to the hardware store and got a door magnet and glued it into the latch, the magnet bar was glued to the top of the frame.

It works perfectly.

Why do you replace intelligence with violence?

Just some post above there is the solution to reposition the little spring, that is the source of this issue.

Mechanically, I didn't like the idea of lifting up to get the door open while sitting in the car. IMO, not the best design.

The previous owner seemed to have broken the latch.

I perfer the magnet closure.
