Scratch at base of roof
Looking to buy a z4 MY2014 and the owner has indicate that there are two identical scratches where the roof seals with the base. Anyone know why this is happening?

Oops! I assumed you were referring to the impression left by the roof on the black trim piece. I didn’t notice the silver (?) mark adjacent/below the line. Looks like you may have a rough edge of some type on the underside of the roof.

Its probably the corner of the roof. The roof probably needs alignment.
I just had mine fixed by the dealer. Would have cost $200 for the alignment and paint work but I just bought the car a few months ago and the Sales Department covered the cost. So far, great dealer support from BMW of Ocala. They are a two hour drive from my house and they picked up the car, gave me a loaner and returned the car back to me. I ended up paying for the gas, but hell just getting the car fixed correctly was a triumph. Nothing is free, my wife loved the 2018 X3 loaner and that could be a $45K purchase. I had originally asked a another dealer closer to my house to fix it and I was supplied with excuses and comments like the car had been wrecked and there is no adjustment on the top etc, etc. This was one of a few failures by them. |

Mine is a 2011 and I all have a slight mark where the roof seals that goes away when I do a good cleaning. No scratches or permanent marks of any kind
