Didn't know that about the term "peanut gallery."

I do remember this one: The Paul Winchell Show, with Jerry Mahoney and Knucklehead Smiff, but I think I only saw it in re-runs.

Actually, my earliest memory of TV in our house was some program where children would place a piece of plastic over the TV screen and trace a drawing or something. 1953-54ish. I suspect that show resulted in a few ruined TV sets among families with small children!

Winky Dink. Saturday mornings. The cartoon characters in the story would need help from time to time and you would draw what they needed on the screen, a boat, a bridge. etc. You used a regular crayon so when you screwed up, and we all did, mom was still able to get the marks off the TV screen, though not happy about it. We had a Philco TV in a wood cabinet about the size of a VW, and some of my sloppy artwork never did come off the wood. I still can't find my plastic overlay and crayon.

I remember that show. I was telling someone about it not long ago but couldn’t remember the name. They thought I was nuts. It was either on for a ling time or ran reruns. I was maybe 3 years old but that would be 1966.

I can't believe they ran reruns in the 60's. The show was on from 1953-1957.

Anyone remember the TV show "Alfred Hitchcock Presents?"

It started in 1955, the year I was born. Ran for 10 years.

I remember the theme music. And at the end of the intro, he turned sideways for a silhouette shot.

Funny, the wife was watching an episode night before last, and I remember watching a few episodes when I was a kid.

Found it on the Roku channel and watched the first 2 episodes this morning with coffee.

Used to watch it all the time when I was a kid.

My mom and dad didn't let me stay up that late. I didn't get to see Dr. Kildare either. Or The Fugitive.

But I did have a Howdy Doody marionette...

I know Eddie Albert in the picture there. He's the "Green Acres" guy.

"You are my wife." "Goodbye city life."
