yup, tyre strategy is going to be crucial tomorrow.

Max on pole is awesome, but the gap with Ferrari is tiny.
Lets hope for a crash free (and mechanical trouble free) race tomorrow and see what the strategy of both teams brings.

On the one side I obviously want Max to win everything, but on the other side I also want an as long as possible close racing season

Max getting pole before the checkered gave me some 2021 type feelings. Really excited about tomorrow but I think we're going to have a close battle between RB/Ferrari/Merc

I was watching post-quali and they showed how planted the Ferrari was over the curbing and the banked sweepers. Max's damper rebound looks too stiff. I think Ferrari is a better setup car for Zandvoort but Max is Max. It also might be that the damper setting will benefit Red Bull greatly under full fuel load.

The flexible floor is about the plank that runs down the center of the chassis isn't it? That's flex on the aero, not the plank, also probably caused by hitting the curbing. Regardless, as one redditor pointed out in that post, MB is running a lower ride height and a different rake compared to RB (could be why RB is so much faster than MB?).

"RBR runs the floor higher, also the reason they don’t show as much bouncing as others. It was really a winner decision.

Mercedes always had in mind to run their car super low, their whole concept is based on that and that’s why they needed substancial changes for their car to perform anything close to normal while increasing the height. They weren’t expecting bouncing so they were forced to it and just later did some adaptations so it still works.

It is still an hack, so their car is still not very good. They need to start over assuming they need to run it higher and make the tunnels still work in that way.

By flex on aero part ,you mean the flexible side-skirts .At the W13 they are very wide because the Mercedes rear is actually too narrow because it hasn't side-pods.
In this situation , you can see the side skirts as an extension of the floor .
If the floor and plank is too flexible , the side skirts will move as well as you can see at the W13 .
That's why a bigger and longer support rod is required for the W13 ..

BTW : Mercedes must remove their front wing in 2023 , because their front wing is too flexible according to the FIA regulations.

Mercedes can't run the car with a higher suspension setup , that would transform the W13 in a bouncing kangaroo like in the beginning of this season .

And HAM would end up in a wheelchair with brain damage...

things are looking much closer this weekend.. cause watching Max overtaking other cars except Perez without even taking a slight risk was pretty boring and fake..

and somebody please calculate "DRS lunges" better.. its most of the time too aggressive and making overtaking much much easier than it should be..

Red Bull has higher rake.. their concept was like that for many years.. they dont need to go lower as other teams that much cause the space between the car and the ground can create low pressure much much easier..

Newey was insisting on high rake concept.. i remember 3 years ago that RBR was talking if they should give up this approach..

Newey is a genius.. but last 2 years Red Bull popped up thanks to FIA.. otherwise high-rake concept still creates disadvantages like rear-end knife edge grip or tend to stall mid corner and exits.. Max's 360's happening because of this still..

it comes to the point that FIA's decisions to change aero system automatically rewarded Red Bull's approach..
