Minor Cosmetic Upgrades IMHO

Did some minor customizing (stripe, metal mesh in front grills, carbon fiber mirror covers, blacked out white lights in headlights and side markers,slotted-drilled rotors and painted calipers) what do you guys think??

What are the ‘white lights in headlights’ ?

I’m not a big fan of racing stripes, unless it’s a Cobra, or McQueen’s Mustang, or something massively special.

If you are going to do the racing stripe then IMO it should continue with the bodylines from the bonnet(hood) to the roof center section and from there to the trunk lid... that line goes over the whole car not just the bonnet. At the moment its like halfway done.

Eyelids on front headlights look out of place and i would keep them stock.. Maybe find some LED bulbs for the halos.

Thats my opinion.. Its your car so you are free to do whatever you wish.

I see. I’ve seen a cover part for that on eBay. I’ve also seen an aftermarket black headlamp unit, which looked massively brilliant, but seemed chancy.

I like the silver and black combo..but..

I'd colour match the rear spoiler..IMHO it looks 'naff' and clearly tacked on aftermarket..

I'd go for the later LCI side repeaters in gloss black

The black bonnet section doesn't do it for me...

As was said each to their own..

Happy New Year! All the mods are easily reversible if someone desires a return to stock. I saw the headlight eyebrow covers but felt just a dark tint would work better for me. I am going to add a front carbon fiber splitter so that way it rounds out the carbon spoiler in the rear. I am only posting these mods for others to possibly see something they may want to do with their own cars.

A bit better i guess.. now do the roof center section aswell...

Something like in this video:
https://youtu.be/D73q1-bCSOg

though in that video stripe is more subtle you can still get the idea...

or you could do the full dualtone thing and wrap the whole roof black...
would work with the heavy window tint you already have...
something like that:
https://in.pinterest.com/pin/71635450316712091/

i think BMW had it even as an option at some point...

something about it here:
https://e89.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=690729

One more thing that irritates me a bit... all the badges...
i personally prefer a debadged car... in fact mine came debadged from factory...
So i would consider removing all the m badges you have on the trunklid and front fenders. and also get rid of Z4 badge and sdrive badges aswell...
Would look alot cleaner imo.

So there..........

Modifying / customising a car is such a personal thing..its good that people like different things..don't take it personally..if you ask for opinions then it can be brutal..

Forget the haters

Hey spitfun

I don't normally register on forums but I registered today to make sure you know that your motor looks good. Don't worry about anyone elses negative opinions. I've done vinyl wrapping and I know it's a total pain in the ass. I also know it must have been a nightmare getting those lines so clean without ruining the paint.

You've done a good job and created a unique version of a car that helps it stand out from the crowd. Be proud

I'm in the middle of modifying my car and I'm pretty sure it wouldn't go down well but it makes me happy
