M2 Comp owner considering a 2011 Z4 6mt

Greetings! I own a 2021 M2 Comp and enjoy it immensely! I'm considering adding a Z4 as a 3rd vehicle to enjoy the open air. The biggest hurdle is whether or not my mother's walker will fit in the trunk. Anyone have experience with this? Please also share any words of wisdom about the Z4. Thanks!

Hi, I own a 2009 Z4 3.0. When I had my right knee replaced I got two different walkers. Neither could fit in the trunk. The metal one, was to high or to long to fit. The other has 4 wheels and was also to large. If you decide to purchase a E89, be sure the top functions smoothly, and will open/close within 22 seconds. Listen for creeks and groans as it opens and closes. With the top up, check the sub floor in the trunk for moisture, or any sort of water damage just aft of the battery. That is where the tops hydraulic pump, and motor is located. Notice there are 2 salmon colored relays on the pump structure, you may want to change them. They are for the top direction control one drive the up the controls the down. They handle the full battery current to drive the motor, so any short will kill your pump. Big buck repair. Relays, $15 each. Enjoy your Z.

The bigger issue is not the walker fitting in , it may be you fitting in!

I dont daily my z4, but I have been the last week since Ive been slowy fixing a coolant leak on my daily.

My back hurts,
I have to adjust the seats up to tilt further back, or I just smash my body into the seat so i can get more space.

It nice and fun to cruise missile around in, but make sure you like the sitting position.
Im 5 ' 11" or just drive it on the weekends.

Proper adjustment of the driving seat is important, I use my Z4 for as much driving as I can get away with, and I am 6' tall, but after experimenting with the seat I am feeling quite well in it (and I do have some lower back problems).
So yes, it could be a problem, but I think it's a solvable one.

im about 6' tall aswell.. also have lower back issues... i do often position myself awkwardly in the seat (slouch) to get myself lower in the car... if that makes sense. ok for short drives but to sit like that for hours is not good.
Also i fit fine with summer light clothes with room to spare, but in colder weather with thicker clothes like a winter jacket on it gets a bit cramped inside... so another thing to consider if you are living in a colder climate with winter season and plan to use it then.
