A gas car is very unlikely to catch fire in your garage unless you can smell gas from a fuel leak so you wouldn't then put it in the garage with a hot engine.

Aside from the argument about which would more likely catch fire, there's the issue of which one can be put out more easily.

With firefighting methods, the only thing that can be done with a Lithium EV battery fire is to let it burn itself out and hopefully contain the fire. Very different from what can be done with a gasoline induced fire.

This also. A fire on an EV is almost impossible to put out however much water or extinguishant is turned on it and with reports of Tesla's flush door handles not working in such an event is concerning.

The only thing I’m aggravated with is your sides worship of government, forcing this on the people. Without that forcing electric vehicles would be nothing more than a novelty item that wealthy people would buy for fun. I must freely admit that does aggravate me. You seem to celebrate that though. More than celebrate I think. Mock it with humor even.

I don’t hate electric vehicles at all. I think they’re bad ass. I think Tesla and Elon musk are bad ass. Always have. I mean I do think Teslas are ugly but I also think I’m in the minority on that. And what I hate with an extreme passion and you seem to love is that the only reason electric vehicles besides Tesla are picking up steam is because it’s being forced on the world population by laws. I do hate that. You love it. That’s the difference.
As the technology improves, I’m sure I’ll buy one. More than likely it will be a BMW or a Porsche but I’m sure I’ll get one. Not because I’m forced to because I want to.

I’m not saying ev and it’s “forced” date is right. I’m not saying ev is better for the environment. I already said I don’t give 2 shits about the environment. I had countless catless cars in the past. Polluting the air like no tomorrow. I don’t give a fuck about the air.

I’m just saying if they have something set in place, instead of bitching, think about the positives of it and not worry about all the negatives. If you had an opportunity to make a change then do so. Will it work? Probably not but at least you’re trying.

But in the meantime as you’re waiting for this “backfire” about ev that won’t happen, think of ways you can benefit from this. Have your awesome ice cars for the weekend and get a badass fast ev for your daily commute.

If I believed what I was told by the experts, I'd believe that EV replacement batteries would cost $2000-$4000 today, not the actual cost of $15,000-$25,000 (or more). The old "it will get cheaper" just hasn't panned out.
