Strong suspicion that the teams and promotor are out for blood after his comments of the valuation of the sport looked almost insider trading esk apparently. The are of the view that he has overstepped the mark and needs to go.

This could be to plicate the teams in the short term but I'd be interested to see how long he lasts, like it or not F1 is a big part of motorsport and mess that up as the head of FIA and its not going to go down well.

Think you're right. The Formula 1 Group (Liberty Media Corp.) got what it wanted. As soon as Mohamed ben Salem said that the $20bn valuation was too high, they've been on the warpath.

Spot on, having a view of what drivers are doing is one thing. Mention commercials and that is a whole other ball game. Anyone want odds on when Ben Salem is going to step down or he becomes a puppet for them?

UPDATE !

MAX tested yesterday the first miles in his 2023 RB19 at Silverstone ..

The RB19 spotted in the wild . Looks like MAX was satisfied

3rd Championship in sight ! And what a lovely sound of the HONDA PU !

Understandable that the Mercs are trying to get some cred back after their last season disaster showing being all down to apparently taking a wrong turn with the design of their 13, hard to believe that they took this road not even taking into account the possible yaw effect of the maxi-skirted car.
Some of their key engineers having left won't help their cause much and it's only the Fia helped jacked up rear end rule that will make it bearable for their 14.

Sure . Mercedes improved , but only with the inside help from the FIA .
The FIA and "Shaila-Ann Rao" shared secret inventions with Mercedes from Red Bull and Ferrari !
Actually It's a real shame for motorsports !

That's why Mercedes will be back in the front in this new 2023 season.

Of course that also all on the pretext of 'safety' from Rao only after a certain Merc driver was complaining of back pain which gave the excuse for her to expose all of their secrets to Merc from Ferrari and RB as you said, then if that wasn't enough attacking RB on the flimsiest of reasons of saying they went slightly over the budget cap which had nothing to do with any tech advantage and more with food allocation, hence giving fia a pathetic reason to impose multi million fine on them, then her leaving after 6 months claiming she was only there as a 'stand in' for someone else.
