No idea what they actually sold for but when this car launched there were Proto Specs listed for $120k+, over 2x MSRP. I believe many Protos sold in the $70k's which is ~$20k ADM. Right now you should be able to get either a Sport or Performance with $10k-$15k markup or less if you're patient. I haven't checked lately, but Sport models are probably still few and far between so actually obtaining one for anything reasonable is unrealistic.

The whole appeal of this car for interested parties was that it's Japanese with some heritage, 400 hp, rwd, and can be had with a manual. People we're hoping for pricing closer to $38k Sport, $45k Performance, $55k Nismo max. I fully expect to see some Nismos listed for $150k+ but I believe most will actually go for somewhere in the $80k-$100k range in the beginning. Crazy talk for what you're getting.

This car has felt DOA due to Nissan pricing, a terrible launch, production issues, dealer markups, etc.

They can, because there are idiots who are okay with the markups thinking any manual car will become the next Ferrari 250GTO

Quick look on cargurus shows some Zs at normal prices. No Proto Specs however.

Alpine: Yeah i was thinking Camaro or Mustang GT as competition in the 40ish price point.
The 1SS 1LE has gotten a little more expensive over the years, not nearly as much as a Mustang with the same performance. The latter in appropriate PP2/Mach 1/darkhorse trim is going to cost you a lot more. But the fact that my 2SS 1LE from 2018 was 48K and smashes a Z...I was hoping that Nissan was going to have some hook with this car, rather than a GT cruiser that doesn't really go over the top in any way. You don't need the fastest car if you have a great handling package. You don't need the best handling car if you have a really fast car. But you gotta bring something to the table.

Honestly that's why I ended up with a 997. The Camaro was never considered as I wanted an engine that liked a few revs so it was Mustang Vs 997. Ideally GT350 but no ragtop so PP2 it is. Mildly used they were still about $60K all in here with taxes etc, the 997 was $80K with likelihood to appreciate, not depreciate. If the stang was $15K cheaper i am onboard but $60K used?

Does this have the same transmission as the Q50? I know the engine is the same.

I had a redsport in 2016 and it was fun to drive but the transmission sucked balls

Not exactly the same as the Z has a Jatco/Merc 9 speed and then obviously the 6MT as well. I haven't driven one but from my understanding it's no ZF8 which already seems to leave some people coming from DCT's underwhelmed.
