Presumably you've got my reply from Saturday?

I'm extremely frustrated, I tried to install my Mr12Volt yesterday. Everything seems to be hooked up correctly, but the iDrive wheel controller doesn't function. I can't scroll through the on screen menu and I don't get the Mr12Volt menu.

Any suggestions????

I will retrace everything this morning.

I retraced everything this morning. It still doesn't work.

If I plug in the iDrive controller wheel directly, it works and allows navigation through the menu. The MMI box is not detected.

I am looking for suggestions.

I sent an email to Mr12Volt as I could have a bad box.

Usually the problem is the push fit connector cable to idrive is a really really tight fit…it appears to be inserted but it’s not….anyway that’s what mine was when I had the same issue

Did you buy the box from Mr12volt directly?
What colour is the box, Black, Blue or Grey?
Does your car have the CDC option (VO code 672 or 694)?
Have you done any coding?
Have you seen my video?......

This was the problem. I rechecked everything and pushed the Mr12Volt connector in the bottom of the jog shuttle and it clicked in and worked.

I cannot thank you enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok....The Mr12Volt screen is not displayed on the dash screen. I can tell it's working as my iPhone will display the CarPlay splash. The CD still shows the changer.

I'm guessing this requires coding, but, I'm getting an error.

In NCS Expert, I am getting Vin is faulty. I can't read the ECU.

What am I doing wrong?

Edit: I believe I am having ODB2 cable issues, I have ordered a new one.

I just installed a box from Bimmerdirect. It was a bit tricky getting the iDrive connections right (the car computers went crazy when I plugged in the iDrive taps and the “instructions” were three different wiring diagrams for CIC and “good luck”!).

But it works flawlessly and really transforms the car into 2024.
