Thumbs up The final non-electrified V12 from Lamborghini: Aventador Ultimae!

What a way to send off one of the most iconic and epic Supercars of all time!
And it not simply a name and cosmetic additions. They have massaged 780hp out of this baby... 😳 That engine note is simply intoxicating.

definitely a swan song / end of an era for them. Lambo has way too many 'special editions' though. aventador, s, sv, svj, ultimate, j, centanario, veneno... the list goes on and on.

never understood why they stuck with the single clutch either.

On the surface, it's for weight and packaging. In actuality, it's purely for character. Since there are no performance drawbacks with a single-clutch at full boil, it's a conscious and intentional tradeoff at the expense of street manners.

SVJs are all theater. They're great.

Cool car. Too bad not much unadulterated engine sound in the video. No cold start/revs, just overdubbed short segments with a narrator talking over the engine.

Funny, someone was rolling around here the other day in an Aventador and my wife asked if they just didn't know how to drive. That single clutch sounds terrible until you're just beating the snot out of it, which thankfully they finally did, then it sounded glorious.

Is it really Lamborghini's last V12 engine? I doubt that, honestly. If any car manufacturers go fully electric, surely the very high-end and traditional manufacturers like Lamborghini will be some of the last to do so. I know Bugatti and Rolls are likely going electric for obvious reason, but Lamborghini, really? They don't even make their cars to perform the best, why would they care? I thought the main attraction of Lamborghinis were the 'soul' and 'passion'.

Everything seems to confirm they will launch V12 hybrids, at least in the short term.

I don't know...everyone is screaming doom and gloom around the death of NA engines BUT if the solution is something like a V12 Hybrid where you get the scream and growl of Natural Aspiration with the torque and kick of an electric motor, is that really so bad?

With that said, I don't have interest in fully electric cars and that will be our future soon enough.

I'm guessing the next one will be the same basic engine and an electric motor before the gearbox or possibly the engine will power the rear only with an electric motor at the front. Still V12 though and the F12/812 was better the whole way through the lifecycle

Yes. Just no need for it and all it doe sis complicate things and make them more expensive. Who needs more torque it's V12 FFS.

I don't get it either, esp since the baby Lambo has a DCT for ages now. A cost thing?
