I have always used Continentals but it's been a while since I was a high-mileage rider. I have no knowledge or experience with Schwalbe or Kenda so can't compare them.

35 miles today. Had a very close encounter with the biggest buck I've seen in this area right at the end of my ride. Colliding with him would have been painful for me, at least. He probably wouldn't have noticed.

One of the most difficult things I've ever done.

Obviously a bit bummed it didn't actually come out to 100 but I was so blasted the last 30 miles I didn't care. I added like another mile or two with detours and still.

I also picked up a new bike the day before on Saturday, next week test ride.

Got out twice this weekend, after way too many weeks off without a ride. But both days my Wahoo app failed to "acquire GPS," so these are in the category of "If it ain't on Strava, it didn't happen, I don't care how sore your taint is."

That's still a noteworthy ride with a good bit of climbing. Well done.

I've never done more than 50. I can't sit in the saddle for that long.

I hate it when technology doesn't work. Or when I forget something like my HR band. My Wahoo will occasionally just lock up at the splash screen. Getting it to reboot and finally work can waste 10 minutes or more.

Having just started cycling in February I think I did ok.

Seemed weird how I was climbing better than when I do my weekly rides. The climbs I had to do felt longer than when I have to climb back home. Bike was heavier too with extra stuff I brought along.

24 miles, great ride.

12.1mph --> personal best average speed for this distance
69rpm cadence
99HR

Around 80F and full sun with low humidity the entire ride. Some headwind on the way home but manageable.

Testing out the Look 765 I picked up last week. Quite an interesting build, too bad I didn't take a proper picture. But the gearing on this is fantastic for climbing. I don't know if its because I've gotten stronger or this was a shorter (35 mile) ride, but I CRUSHED my PR climbing back home.

More details on the bike if anyone wants, XTR rear derailleur 9-45 cassette, GRX 38 Chainring and GRX brakes/hoods. Berd spokes on NOBL wheels, Onyx Vesper Hub.

Nice bike. Looks like a single gear up front? 9-45 is a good range. If the front ring is 38 tooth, that gives you close to a 1.2/1 ratio. No wonder it climbs nice.

Just finding this thread. Got into cycling in 2023 with a group of friends in the Seattle area. I try to get 150 ish miles a week during the summer and whatever I can suffer through inside during the winter. Bike is an SL8 Tarmac (very overkill).

24 miles, 69rpm, 100HR, 12.2mph --> best time for this distance/route. Especially good because of a 10-12mph headwind on the return leg.

This happened about a mile past my turnaround point. Not something you see every day.

Probably done for the season! It has been a good one. Bike ran well and trail was good. Thinking about a base/entry level road bike in the spring. We shall see!
