I went with COBB it was silly how easy install it was. Plug in the module through the access port on left side of drivers seat. Read the cars make, download current map and upload the stage 1 COBB for the 35is. total time was about 30 minutes.
Though never had ESS, COBB for me is brilliant. |

I set out installing ESS to get rid of the acceleration hesitation issue but it didn't solve it. At the same time, I felt the effect was rather small. After several months, I switched back to factory just out of fun, and found that WOW, it is a complete car - unacceptable power, have to step to floor at one of my favorite sloped street. NOW I realize ESS really have done a really good job. For the price and simplicity and reversibility, ESS is the choice. And I happen to have 3.5i, much more room compared to 3.5iS for improving by ESS.
