First car was a '68 Dodge Monaco, a big old tank. I was 16. It was 8. First new car was an '85 Dodge Daytona Turbo, a 146hp turbo 4. Peppy for then but even my '06 X3 would have run away from it. First real sports car was a '91 Mitsi 3000GT VR-4. 300hp TT V-6 and AWD. Its handling was well above anything up to that time and still the most neutral easy to drive at the limit car I've had to date. 4 wheel drifts where a breeze. The handling would not bite you even on sheer ice. And that was with Michelin XGT-4 performance all-seasons.

Hey guys, I know this thread is soo last week but I'm sitting here at the detailers looking at the sept issue of Car & Driver and I see that the 2011 IS was reviewed in the august issue. Their road test summary lists the 0-60 as 4.4 and the 1/4 mile 12.9 @109.9... Anyone have this issue?

just traded my blue, sweet driving 2009 35i for a low miles 2011 white...35iS.....
still paid indeed the approx 9k upward ;-) But what a difference, better handling, the engine with the AT in manual and sport seems far more a team with the transmission, fast, fast and just love the sound of the exhaust, even my wife is grinning in the passenger seat. DCT...absolutely right! And I am still breaking it in, with only 20000 miles on it, so I am working on beyond grinning Thanks |

i am very happy with my 35i. However I enjoy the pops and burbles of the exhaust and I understand the 35is does more of that. And you don't get that from a Tune. Also i believe that they have some other heavier duty parts under the hood. (forged crank?) I am not real crazy about 19" wheels but they could work with the proper tires. The additional power is always nice but I can't imagine where I would use it. All in all I do wish I had one.

35is is a waste
Dinan stage 2 on 35i and 35is yield same results. I overpaid for a 35is in 2014.
