I love it! I love its feel, its heft and its looks. But I haven't shot it yet. I'm given to understand that the reported troubles happen far more frequently to the 5" version due to the heavier spring. We'll see.

I've wanted an Staccato for years but I couldn't justify the price let alone actually afford it. This is everything I could want out of a tactical pistol except for not having a threaded barrel. I suspect in the not too distant future, someone will make one for it, if not Springfield themselves.

Until then, I'm chomping at the bit to put some rounds through it.

Without going into politics (because we all know who the scumbags are responsible for this shit), are any other gun enthusiasts not really troubled by this ruling? If I'm being 100% honest, I always thought the braces were kind of a scam as they're every bit as able to be shouldered as a traditional stock. I think the industry really, really pushed this to the point where the beforementioned scumbags had an easy road to take here. I've always looked at the guns with braces as an SBR, and just kind of chuckle they've been around this long.

With that being said, I think all the NFA rules are a complete joke to begin with and I'm certainly not arguing this is just, within the 2A, or agreeing with it on principle. I'm just saying if we have to be honest, nobody but a super small percentage of disabled folks are actually using these braces as they're "supposed" to be used. Personally I only have one "pistol" with a brace currently and I've just been looking for an excuse to get an SBR stamp as I want a real Magpul adjustable stock on it. The braces have always been too short for me to shoulder 100% comfortably, so I've kind of steered clear of them for the most part. I've sold all but the 1 I have currently, and will likely put in for the stamp soon (as I've done before for other firearms).

Still sucks for the 40 million people potentially out there with one of these guns/braces, and hopefully it's overturned in the courts.

Also ordered a P320 Compact RDS. Hopefully pick that up in a week.

I have a 7.5 AR pistol with a brace and I’ve always wanted to sbr it but I’ve been cheap and didn’t want to pay for the tax stamp. If I read correctly ppl would have 120 days to file a tax free form 1, so the only up side here would be the free tax stamp. Other than that more rules/laws are never a good thing in my opinion.

I did the e-file back in April... so not the 90 days they said it would take, but not the year+ it could have taken.

I should've gotten the Sandman-S. I bought the -K for 300blk. It's okay with subs. -S would've been better.

I need to pick up subs yet, but firing some off the shelf rounds was already a big difference. Fires so smooth with fast follow ups. I was worried about it becoming too front heavy but it feels really good.

Long morning at the department range already.
  • 75 rounds through the three small circles and only threw 2 (…bad trigger presses).
  • 50 rounds through the medium circle all in.

I’m ready to go home already. Is it 1500 hours yet?!?

At a distance of....6 feet?

I only say this to highlight what could be a very important detail in distinguishing between whether you are a budding Chris Kyle or a trained toddler.

12-15 yards, but no Chris Kyle by any means.

Yup I couldn't get that kind of grouping with that many rounds at that distance - good job!

You could. The smaller circles are used for precision shots, so I would shoot a round at a time; maybe 2-3 seconds apart. The medium circle was 2-3 shot bursts using a shot timer. I am trying to fix my tendency to shoot low and left (…as seen in my groupings). Even one of the range instructors tried to give me pointers, but it'll take some time. I've always shot low and left, and occasionally the way I grip the gun interferes with the slide lock (…dominant hand/thumb pressing against the slide lock); it doesn't lock after the final round. I end up having to tap and rack.
