Apparently a neighbor saw the parents loading the trailer in early Sept and they went away for a weekend. Someone else reported that they were seen at a campground/camping area not terribly far from their home (few hours at most I suppose, still in FL). Three people arrived and two left. So the presumption is they dropped Brian and some gear, he disappeared into the wilderness or met up with someone else, and the parents went home and sent the police to the swamp to look (not near where they camped).

I have no idea if any of these “reports” are accurate or reliable. I’m not following as closely now as this is just another man hunt, where the Gabby part had several interesting layers until she was found deceased.

This scenario is basically what I suggested a week or so ago and makes sense because no one has actually seen him, it has all been on the parents and lawyers word.

I'm a parent and I'd say about 50/50. It is biased, but at the same time, we don't know the other side of the story. It looks bad, and it probably is, but we are just speculating.

Now if my kid intentionally killed another human being, without being provoked, then yes, I would turn them into the authorities.

There was a news interview with a survival expert, and they asked how long a person could survive in the wilderness. Now I realize to a lot of people that may sound like a legitimate question, especially those who never leave metropolitan areas, but I couldn't help but laugh.

People have lived and survived in the wilderness for centuries. People still live in and survive entirely off the wilderness. Being that he is an avid outdoorsman and backpacker, it's entirely possible he could survive indefinitely and could be making his way elsewhere using trail systems or bushwacking. With the right gear you'll easily have shelter and such for months, the only thing you need to worry about is food and water, and that's abundant enough where if you know what you're doing, you'll be fine.

I'm still up-in-the-air on if he is the guy the media has made him out to be or not. The police interviews show that he could be the aggressor and abuser, but also show that shoe could very well have been also. For all we know she could have went off the handle on him and he defended himself unintentionally causing her death, and now he is hiding because he knows how it's going to look to the courts and media. If that's the case he should have immediately went to the authorities if he ever wanted a chance, but he has since screwed himself.

Sad that this case has grown so cold that we are discussing female sex teachers again, which I might add isn't a terrible topic of discussion; as long as you aren't the parent of said child. I know it shouldn't, but as a male, the female teacher bits seem less offensive somehow. I know, I know, it's still a minor regardless of gender, sex or whatever differentiates people these days.

Side note/coffee thoughts: In the future, I feel that we will no longer identify sex/gender as classification. Everything will be grouped into two categories, Blued-Haired, Neck Tattoo People and people that have jobs.
