I washed and waxed my baby just now and try to see how large the gap is. Well, there are gaps, all around the head lights, between each panel, but I think they are acceptable and I think they have take into consideration in the designing stage. If any part is not aligned, head light and/or bumper, they just can't fit in and will look very odd. especially some are not straight edges. Otaga, if you have any worry, I can meet up with you and compare mine with your black knight and see is there a big difference. |

Only 2 very minor issues on mine, and they are not serious enough for me to take it to the dealers.
1. If nobody sits in the passenger seat for a few days, then a rattling noise can be heard going over rough road surfaces. If you just press down on the seat base it disappears for a while. I think one or two others on here have reported something similar. Not sure if its the heating element, or ISOFIX safety thing, but it does sound like something loose vibrating against plastic/metal. 2. Again going over rough road surfaces, a metallic ping/spring noise can be heard from the rear drivers side window. I discovered yesterday that if you tap the window switch to effectively drop the window by about 1mm (you see the window slightly twist round and down, but its completely sealed so no chance of any leaks), then the noise stops. I suspect it might be the mechanism that actually moves the window. I thought it was the rear speaker, but pretty sure its something to do with the window. When the cars in the dealers I'll bring this to their attention and tell them exactly where the issues are. This means all they need to do is fix things rather than diagnose where the rattles are coming from!

I've got the same fuel pump sound. Kind of a high pitched whirring sound coming from behind the passenger seat. Only at idle.
Also have a whining from the transmission from the back. Really loud and only in really hot weather (and when the engine is worked up.) Not the ordinary transmission whine, but a really loud one. Kinda' annoying, but other than that all is great. |

5 weeks, 1600 miles. No squeaks or rattles.
A 30i I test drove at the dealer had a noise in the dash and a trim strip they'd pulled up to try to fix it. (They told me about it up front and had to pull it out of the service bay so I could drive it) They were waiting for parts of a new dashboard from Germany in order to fix it. |

I am having my inside rearview mirror replaced as it did not sit flush with the windshield, resulting in loose fit when adjusting it.
The cup holder's spring-loaded clip fell off. Getting a new one. Paint defect found on the front bumper, right side of the badge. It has a clear line...looking like the factory painted a half of the bumper, let it dry and finished off the rest. The front bumper also chips very easily. Good thing I now have the new film put on, it hid mostly the defect and chip. I also have a speck under the paint on the passenger side under the weatherstripping. Man, I am not happy with the paint quality so far from the premier manufacturer. We'll see.... |

Adaptive Light and passenger handle
Hi I have a Z35I with only 300 km, and I encounter few issues..
First: the adaptive xenon lights are dead, It don't enlighten the road properly, but just 3 meter away very dangerous. Second : the right interior handle (in leather), (the one on the passenger side, that you pull to close the door, is loose.., not great for a car that highlight the quality of its material.... Need to go to the garage to fix it |

Hi MDFLS, you said that you had the same issue..
Does it means that it is fixed?? What the dealer did? Did it changed the handle entirely or did id he just glued the handle where it is loosed ?? Thanks for sharing your experience.. |

You're welcome. Yes, the handle has been fixed, but I didn't ask what they did to fix it. I will ask them when I go back next week to get my inside mirror replaced and my cupholder as well.

I had the same problem on my 2005 Z4. It seemed to come on every 1000 miles. They kept telling me I must be topping off the tank when I put gas in. I never top off the tank. After 4 trips to the dealership they finally fixed the problem. They thought there was a pin hole leak in the line between the fuel canister and the valve or in the tank. They smoked the line several times and let it sit overnight and could not find the leak. They then resmoked the line and wiggled the connectors and found the seam on the line to have a slight leak when pressurized. They were told by the rep to replace the line and fuel tank due to other cases that they had seen. This finally fixed the problem.
I hope they find out what is causing your trouble. I know it is a real pain, I've been there. |
