Correct. Why would anyone ever compare a Porsche to Tesla. Couldn’t agree more!

I love the looks especially in blue, side profile and the rear end have to be my favorite angles. Can't wait to hear more from reviews and future owners.

I'm disappointed in the performance numbers vs. the Model S for the price. BUT, I'd bet that the Porsche finish and quality will run circles around the hodgepodge of quality control output from Tesla. There's more to these cars than just the 0-60 numbers...
Still underwhelmed and disappointed nonetheless but let's see.

5,132 lbs?!?!? :O
Love how they put the charging port on the front fender still though lol. Can't believe I'm saying this, but I'd rather have the Tesla! |

Technically yes, but as always there are trade offs. The original i3 was under 2700 lbs, but only had ~80 miles of range

Man, all you "turbo" moniker haters forget PCs used to have a "turbo" button back in the day. Hahaha

The cries about the performance reveal how little these people understand the car. Can the Tesla make even 2 laps of a decent road course without going into limp mode? Can the Tesla make more than perhaps 2 0-100 runs without reducing power to save the battery? It's a paper tiger when asked to do anything more than a single quarter mile run. The Porsche has been designed as a true performance car, not an EV with a large battery that can do circus tricks.
And I don't even care for Porsche!

I'm very surprised with the early reactions to this beauty. It's really interesting to see people defending Tesla over this.
"Uhh why is it called a Turbo when it's an EV?" It's heritage! All car makers had to bend their naming to keep up with the modern times. You guys are ok to call a 2.0L engine M140i but it's sacrilege to name an EV Turbo? Come on... "It's too expensive" No shit Sherlock . It's a Porsche. The build quality and the brand image on this totally justifies the difference in my opinion. I think it's a total waste to spend $100k on a Tesla with that shitty build quality. I'd always opt for a lower end Taycan over any Tesla. "It's not as fast as a Tesla" Tesla is faster on paper. In real world you need to willingly accept wrecking the batteries for a single ludicrous mode launch. With the Porsche you can pedal to the metal as much as you want and that's what matters the most. The only thing Tesla has over this thing is auto pilot. That's where Tesla shines and other manufacturers stall. Apart from that, I think they just nailed it with the Taycan. And I'm pretty sure this will have better sales figures than Tesla in 1-2 years. People will realize they were bearing with a lot of shitty aspects of a Tesla just because it was first of its kind. Now Tesla has serious competition from a real car manufacturer and people will soon come to their senses. If Tesla was the first smartphone, then this is the iPhone. |

Taycan, Taycan S, or Taycan GTS would have been perfectly fine. The Turbo moniker is a bit cringy.
Big fan of Porsche, big fan of Tesla. I have a few of each. That said...the Taycan does absolutely nothing for me. It's safe to say that a significant portion, if not majority of the Taycan's target demographic already own a Tesla. It's going to be difficult to win them over. |

Do people forget that there are several mid to high-end sports cars on the market which also have a hard time avoiding limp mode during a session? I made 5 passes at the drag strip in my Model S without charging in between. The difference between my best and worst runs were 0.185 seconds and 1.3 MPH. |
