I think my first mod would be higher flow cats as the UK climate doesn't heat up much and I'm not sure if an upgraded intercooler is needed on the Z4. I'm looking forward to seeing what gains can be made with RBs and the new TFT intake system. |

Will you be posting info? If not please PM along with list of mods. Curious if you've experienced "throttle oscillation" when taking off in 1st?

Yes i will be posting all the essential info. Throttle Oscillations are PID related. I never experienced any type of the oscillations in any gears

I have been working with Wedge over the past two months on a 93 map and we are almost done. I plan to dyno soon and I will post some number. I can tell you that they do excellent work and I am very happy with their custom map.
It has been my fault that it has taken two months because of many factors but mostly because I have not been able to log because of bad weather. They are always very quick to respond to e-mails and updated maps are always done quickly. I am getting ready to have Wedge put together an E50 map for me to complete in a 1/2 mile shootout in late May. I plan to video all of my runs so I should have a lot content to share around the first week of June. |

I'm more interested in the 6 spd manual you picked up. Anything to report on that car?

Base Map Progress (Phase 1)
Ok everyone here it is, I finally got around to making a 93 octane base map for a stock E89 Z4 MT with only a K&N drop in filter . This also applies to E89 cars with DCT regardless if your IS or not. We already have a base map for E89 DCT that are FBO, and just wanted to give some attention to the cars that are still stock for DCT and MT
If any of you are wondering the ROM version for this car is IKC0S which is a PITA actually. This map applies to ANY ROM version your E89 came with or was updated to. Peak boost is 18 psi @ 4k RPMs and tappering to 15-16 psi @ 6k RPMs at sea level in hot and humid south Florida. There is still some more work to be done on wastegate smoothness as I like to have it. But absolutely no oscillation can be felt. This a base map we will start you with then it will be dialed in to your setup. Those of you with only 91 octane will have less timing and 1 psi less on boost. http://www.datazap.me/u/buraq/e89-z4...20&zoom=32-139 The more mods the better. |

About 3 years ago I used to own a 335xi that was FBO running in the 11's on street tires... Now I've owned my 09' Z4 35i manual for about 8 months and haven't done anything more then a JB4 so far... Needless to say, I'm starting to crave more power again, and I think I might change things up a bit and buy the Cobb AP so I can run your maps! Since I've been out of the loop for so long, where's the best place/price to buy a Cobb AP now days? |

What catted dp are you guys running? I have been searching for 3 days and the only one I can find for the Z435i is from AR. Is there another option out there?

I already bought the catless, but just curious what the power differences are between HFC and catless DPs in your experience.
Also, intake-wise, I believe you like the AFE Stage 2 sealed intake pictured below, correct? The question is, do you recommend using it with the cover on or off? I've seen recommendations both ways. |

You can achieve more torque with the HFC over the catless DPs as it gives more back pressure. Also, you would have less to worry about drone, gas smell, and rasp with a HFC Yes I favor the aFe Stage 2 SI intake . Cover off if you want sound, if you want your system to work optimally then cover on especially during positive DA. Ive tested both ways. If you have negative DA weather then cover off as there is a lot off passive air from outside hitting the engine bay while "moving" Cover on having a vacuum intake character you can produce more boost with less wgdc ie your turbos run more efficient |

Base Map Progress (Phase 2)
Phase 2 in tuning a PITA IKCOS series ROM . Highly recommended to get the dealer to upgrade your car's software though.
Phase 2 was smoothening out wastegaste activity during WOT. With stock downpipes and the backpressure being face with I finally got them stable at current boost levels http://www.datazap.me/u/buraq/e89-z4...-9-10-11-16-21 Last edited by BQTuning; 04-14-2015 at 08:21 PM.. Reason: wrong link |

I would highly recommend you to update your car software to INA0S. The best way to know is to ask the dealer if there is a software update for you car, if they say yes then your on an old ROM. FYI from what I understand the dealer cannot tel or see the ROM name
Just sent you an email |
