Its just over the keys, southern part. The storm slowed down a ton, it's now moving 8miles per hour and it just is going through an eye replacement.

Just got word that schools will be closed for Dade & Broward counties for Tuesday. My job is in Brickell and declared an evacuated zone so waiting for the email about Tuesday/Wednesday. Fundguy1, stupid that those idiots didn't take down those cranes. Must be Cubans, cannot stand them and yes, even I'm Cuban.

Tree fell down on one of my wife's cousins cars, but hardly any damage. Tree blocking the driveway so we'll be here for a while. My son is going bonkers w/o power.

Intercostal waters of St Pete are wayyyy out. As if all the water is being sucked out. I have never seen the green area where water should be. Top right of picture. Not sure what that means at this point but I imagine when it comes back eeek!!

When the hurricanes come up the middle of the state, all the gulf side intercostal gets pushed out to the gulf due to the counter clockwise rotation. Typically doesn't come back with force.

It's a lot different if the bay is on the east side of the eye. Then everything gets pushed into the bay and intercostal. Geographically speaking, being on the east side of the peninsula garners a certain level of hurricane protection.

I'm the toughest son of a bitch that any of you will ever meet (just ask the old lady in the Cadillac who tried to pass me on I-95 heading up here, probably regretting that move ain't ya hun?). My ol' lady has final say in what our family does, due to having a 10 year old. I wanted to stay but I was getting pounded with the "what ifs" and "it will be on your head if something happens to that boy". It may have turned out that she was right and now I'm asking my friends to get out of there to no avail. They still have time but they are staying put.

Brickell is flooded with several feet of water and unfortunately the cranes take 2 weeks to remove. They are supposed to be good to 150 mph wind so someone screwed up installing that one.
