I think, jentr, that is the rear aerodynamic piece to the M sport package. I am a nooby here and this is my first BMW. I bought a CPO 2011 jet black Z4 3.5i with black interior about three months ago. It has the premium package and navigation. I am really enjoying it and the information that I am getting on this site. After seeing some of these great shots, it looks like new wheels may be in my future.

Hey everyone, just joined the forums and last Friday I bought a 2014 35i Z4 with msport and everything else. I don't have any pictures yet. Before this I had a 2010 M3 Cab.

Hi!
Hello everyone,
I don't think my Z4 has anything that you haven't seen already but apparently I am required to post something here before I can ask my question so here is my Z4 arriving with a striptease |

My 2010 35i
After searching for 8 months, I finally landed a blue beige, fully loaded z4 with 7200 miles. I am stoked. It has 7 speed DCT (must for the wife, but I love it), sport package (must for me), premium package, premium sound (which I think is a waste on a convertible, at least with the top down), cold weather package, navigation, park distance control. I think it has the alarm (bmwarchive indicates it was not an option for my VIN, but I have the red bulb on the mirror which I thought indicated the alarm was installed). And it has a cpo warranty.
So far, two minor problems: 1. the buttons on the right side of the sports steering wheel don't work. The dealer is getting me a replacement part and I will install it. 2. The navigation does bizarre things on the NJ turnpike asking me to exit, do a upturn and get back on at each exit. I've also been surprised by the hot air without the AC (with the roof down), even with the temp setting and cold air selection at the coldest settings. I read somewhere that this is the nature of a hot running engine in a convertible, so I hope this is normal. |

Congrats on your Z4. Be glad you have the premium sound. The base sound doesn't have enough power to be heard well with the top down. Yes, that hot air is normal. If you don't have the AC on you're just drawing air from the engine bay. I often turn the blower off with the tip down. Finally, the red bulb us the key fob sensor, not the alarm. You can check to see if you have an alarm by placing something in the car when it's locked with the top down. Motion sensors will be activated and sound the alarm.

2014 Z4 28i
Hey Folks,
Just a line to introduce myself. Im in the East of England and taking delivery of a Mineral Grey Z hopefully next weekend. Found the info helpful. Im coming from a mildly tuned S2000 so totally different beast for me. Hope I made the right decision. Photos will follow next week. Would be interested in anyone whos used TMC for tuning to the 28i - impressive figures:- http://www.tmcmotorsport.com/TuningB...spx?s=94911903 Also appears those who have been dynoing the stock 28i have seen results coming out at around 260 - 267bhp at crank. Interesting vid i found too :- |

Hey All,
I’m an excited new E89 owner here, just purchased a MY 2010 35i. Its replacing my long time E34 525i that’s just past 265,000mi and been my DD for more than 10 years but is finally ready to retire (or at least according to CA smog among other issues it is…). My E34 set the bar pretty high in terms of overall net satisfaction, I’m hoping that the E89 can do the same and so far it’s off to a pretty good start. Looking forward to learning and discussing all things E89 here with you all. Cheers, Tyler |

The Hunt For Z4
As a long time BMW owner (1995 3 Series convertible) I thought after I sold my 'vert last summer, I would be ok without my much loved car in the garage going forward.
That seems to have been incorrect, as I am now searching for a roadster to fill that space. I have never considered the Z4 before. The 1st Gen didn't do it for me, even though early on in my search I did consider it. That was until I saw the 2nd Gen Z4, and now that decision is made. Wonderful retractable hard top looks as good up or down, and that is rare my friends! Because I will not buy a convertible in the summer, that has allowed me to explore the few used offerings that I can personally view and drive in my area. I realize that this is a national search and I will probably need to do as much "homework" as I can in person because I will likely have to buy this car without actually driving/seeing it. So, the first thing to do was drive both engines offered in 2009-2010, which I did. The model I drove with the 35i had the 6 speed manual trans which was awesome. The 30i had the basic 6 speed auto which was not very exciting, but still gave me the opportunity to explore the car further.. I felt I had to check out the iDrive system so that was a special trip. Didn't drive the car (a 2011, and out of the price range, although I do see a glut of 2011s which are probably lease returns, on the market currently that are reasonably close to the 09-10s in price) but I did decide that it's iDrive or bust for me…being a sort of techie, I won't buy this car without it. Here is the Master Wish List: iDrive 35i 6 speed MT Cold Weather Under 40,000 miles I like most of the colors…except probably white…but buying used means compromising. I do not like the red interior, with the possible exception with white exterior…but, see above. I think the 30i would probably suffice if other packages were there, and not a deal breaker for me. It would be nice to have: Sport Seats DCT if the MT proves to be too rare…and it seems it might be. Premium sound $23-$27K It would be great if there were owners here who might take the time to educate me on these points, and how your choices worked out as you shopped for your Z4. Did you buy your used car sight unseen? What sort of options were on your wish list and how did it ultimately work out for you...did you compromise at all? Thanks for the time. |

Prospective near-future owner here, I have a car lined up waiting for me...
...And a question; this car clearly has leather (or vinyl... it's stitched anyway) sun visors. Does this mean it might have extended leather too (top of the dash and the instrument binnacle)? The picture is too poor to see if the dash top is stitched... http://www.autoscout24.com/Details.a...000&asrc=st|fs The only thing I can see missing is the power seats, which definitely stings as lumbar support is important to me, but they're heated at least. |

New to forum
Hi all, just purchased a 2011 Z4 35i with 55,000km and bone stock. Single owner car that was lady driven and babied all it's life.
Looking forward to getting to know forum members and hopefully some locals here in Toronto. Will post photos after I get the car detailed. Thanks. |
