Dysons are a waste of money. I bought a portable vacuum online for less than $50 bucks that works great for the car. Normally I don't like the small, portable types but this one works great.

It's on Amazon now for only $30.99. It's the best portable I've ever owned. Importantly it's not battery operated so it's got some serious suction power. I realize this isn't an LOL post, but just saying. I recommend this product.

I'm talking about using this for a car. Any other battery operated portable is worthless IMO. If you've got dog or cat hair in there, you need power.

I bought an upright Dirt Devil that was like 50% off at time, I just needed a vacuum that weekend and didn't bother shopping around.
I don't have carpets, but it's nice to have an upright for mats.

Agreed. To reiterate, as I explained to the upper middle class white woman Alfisti , I use this specifically for vacuuming the car, not the house.

For carpeting, I use Shark branded products. At least as good as Dyson, if not better, and way less money.

The only vacuum we've bought that was worth the money was a Kirby. Dang thing is over 30 years old and still works like new.

We've tried several others that we would keep upstairs instead of lugging the Kirby up and down the stairs, but they all died shortly after their warranty expired.
