In regards to the Carfax, being a Manufacture vehicle means it was never titled (prior to it being sold as CPO) and was owned by BMW NA. As Nick touched on, this mean the vehicle could have been one of the following: Press vehicle, Exec vehicle of a BMW NA employee (not dealer employee), Demo car, advertisement cars (at malls or BMW sponsored events), or BMW Performance Driving car. Giving it's high mileage (9,000 at time of auction) I would say it was most likely an Exec car or a BMW Performance car. BMW Performance car may be ruled out if there isn't a driving school in or near Ohio. On 8/11, a BMW dealer (Des Moines BMW) bought the car from BMW NA at an auction, CPO'ed it themselves, and offered it for sale. This also means (if I am not mistaken) the car DOES have a title, which is in Des Moines BMW's name. Someone correct me if I am wrong on this though. Edit: It's interesting... I just looked at the ad again, and it's offered by a KIA dealer? So IMO here's the history of the vehicle. It was first a BMW NA vehicle as an Exec vehicle to an employee. It was then sold at an auction at 9,000 miles. Des Moines BMW bought it and CPO'ed it. After it was CPO'ed, someone from Olathe Kia bought it (most likely someone high up - owner, manager?) thinking they can make a quick buck off of it. While they were offering it for sale, they were also driving the vehicle, which explains the mileage. I've actually seen this happen, where the owner/manager of a dealership drives a vehicle they have for sale while it is for sale, and constantly updating the mile as he racks it up. Hello to another baby in the family.
This is my new baby 1 week with him and Im obsessed driving this, not my first Z4 but really nice improvement over my old 06.
Forgot to add... Active Autowerkes tunning, M6 Replicas, red interior, fully loaded ALL EXTRAS, and fully coded. Yesterday an M3 TRIED to catch my tail on I95... he followed me to ask what the hell had that car... Very happy with the tunning... |

Another noob here, Ben from London. My first BMW was a 2000 316i, which is still in the family but is ailing, poor girl. I've had my 2010 Z4 23i since May this year and I'm smitten.

Just thought I'd check in from Wilmington, NC. Recently picked up a 2009 35i with 11,600 miles on the odometer. My last convertible was a 2002 Honda S2000.
Thanks for all the info on this great forum!! Last edited by rodsmith123; 07-23-2013 at 09:07 AM.. |

Nub, checking in from SF Bay, California. She's bone stock with minimal options (go go heated seats!).
All I know is when I mash the petal on the right, she makes this beautiful growly noise. |

Just introducing myself...
I had once dreamed of owning a C2 Corvette before my 50th birthday, but as I have gotten nearer that milestone... it's morphed into owning a Z4 instead. The 'vette would be nice but it's certainly not a daily driver, while the Z4 is! I've got 3 more years but am going to test drive 2 2011's this weekend, both a 35I and a 35IS. With any luck, I'll come home with one and my wife won't kill me. |

New Z4 SDrive 35is owner from Palm Springs
Hi I would like to say hi, I have been lurking around this forum for a long time. I finally got my dream car! Sapphire Black with Walnut interior. Picked it up a few days ago and have been driving the heck out of it. Took a few picks of Big B in Joshua Tree the other day. Love being part of the Z4 club!

Hey there, new here and wanted to introduce myself. I have a 2009 30i - basically a bare bones z4, not much extras - NA engine and a 6 speed manual - all that really matters!
Anyways, I'm looking into doing some mods in the next year (time for planning and saving up the money). Some of the stuff I'm looking to do include: New lighweight 18" wheels (really love the look of the BBS GT4 wheels, but will probably get a variant - enkei raijin or konig kilograms or something along those lines) New rubber to wrap around said wheels (Michelin PSS) KW V3 coilovers + corner balance Eisenmann dual tip exhaust Of course, this is all in my head right now, but it's the list I've compiled. I've come to the understanding that the N52 engine can't be modified for more power unless drastic measures are taken, so I'm going to work on handling. I'd love to drop some weight off this car, but not sure how. Any pointers on how to do this without ruining the balance of the car would be greatly appreciated. Time for pics of the Z4 - i should also add, despite the Maryland plates, I'm in SE Michigan Last edited by ericeng2; 08-31-2013 at 08:05 PM.. |

My Black Z
Love this car! 2009 35i, Dinan S1, 19 inch Continental DW, vivid black, and a 6spd. It is a blast to drive and really like having a unique vehicle. I have only seen 2 other E89's.

Anyone know what kind of rear bumper cover is that on 'maluch's car above there?
Anyways, a noob here too. Just got mines about one week ago. Identical to maluch's car above (minus the rear bumper cover). 24,000 miles on it and hope to have thousands of problem free miles after I take care of the noisy LPFP. |
