Deck Bubbles
Seems all my troubles are behind me.
Other than replacing the deck, has anyone found a fix for the bubbles? George |

Gosh they are bad..looks like the sun has got to it big time..you could try puncturing each one with a hypodermic syringe and injecting some runny contact adhesive ..or a re-cover..

syringe will probably not fix it... you will see all the holes after... also it will be endless... you will fix those, some time later new ones pop up and you do it again and again.and again...
maybe try a mild heatgun and massage them back... if it was me... i would look for a new used deck... there are a couple on ebay for 225-250 eur + shipping from usa. not that bad if you are in the states.... German hubauer-shop has a new new piece listed for 900eur + shipping... partnr to search for: 54 37 7 220 790

Thanks for the thoughts guys. I'll pick one really bad bubble for experimentation and go from there. Seems like a combo of heat and evacuating the expanded air will be required.
Based on responses to this and my corroded aluminum center console, I get the impression that typical BMW owners just replace the offending component rather than bother with a fix. Buying a new 2013 Z4 one panel at a time is not a practical solution for me. George |
