Footwell Module coding issue
I'm trying to make some coding changes on my E89, and I'm receiving this error when attempting to access the footwell module "Error memory contains multiple errors" and doesn't allow me to enter into the module's code. I've found some information about resetting the short circuit faults in the FRM using ISTA, but I'm not sure if that can actually cause damage to the module, and I don't know if there are additional E89-specific details or risks that I should be aware of before attempting anything.
Thanks! |

Unless someone comes on here who is E89 specific that can help, I'd recommend looking on e90post.com. I can guarantee you'll get all the help you need on there, as they have the same footwell module, so same issues
I've had this fault come up before using Carly, whereas NCSExpert simply codes it accordingly. It's a safety thing, warning you that it could all go horribly wrong, and it can. I'd guess that the correct advise will be to get it flashed by someone who knows what they are doing and it should reset it all fine for you

Seems those FRMs are notorious for the memory getting corrupted and as a result the FRM bricks itself..it’s alledged that multiple re codings, interruptions to power all contribute to this failure mode..
As Dave said best for an expert in this case?

I ran across this article some time ago. It offers some insight into the footwell module.
