Special Differential Tools - Z4 E89 35is
Looking to DIY removal and install of new pre-built lsd pumpkin but having a hard time figuring out how to approach the install
TIS guideline keep mentioning special tools on multiple steps of disassembly and reassembly For those who have done it, what special tools are and aren’t needed? There’s plenty of aftermarket special tools for E9x but haven’t found matching TIS codes for our E89. Afaik, rear subframe is E46 and E85 based. But don’t want to waste money on the wrong kit. Any advice is appreciated!

In general posting this with the E85 guys may solicit more responses as they seem to do quite a bit of track work and see, to be popping in various LSD units..
However I di know when I had an E89 N20 car with a third part diff that the dismantlers had removed the crown nut that rendered it unusable and I was quoted around £450 to refurbish it. The nail in the coffin is that the 35i /35is has a welded on crown wheel that needs to be machined off..unlike most of the other E89 and E85 diffs with bolted on crown wheels..so that puts the 35i diff beyond most home mechanics.. All IMHO…
