Painting E89 Parts
I am wanting to have my E89 rear view mirror covers and roll over bar covers painted to match the car.
Does anyone have a "place" or a guy? Or, should I find a local place? |

You can look for a custom car paint guy, but they're generally more expensive and you're not looking for 'custom paint'. You're looking for 'paint matching' which is what any good body/paint shop does every day.
I'd ask your BMW service advisor for a recommended shop. They likely have one they work with regularly and it will be BMW certified. The reason I said you're looking paint matching is that you have a 15 year old car. You could pull the covers off and have a paint shop spray them out with paint mixed to your paint code. The problem is that it probably won't be a perfect match due to the paint on your car aging. A good shop can blend it to match. Gerry

My trusted indy took some of my 35is parts to the body shop next door. It is just a regular collision body shop. We painted the rear mirrors, rollover bars, wings US side reflectors, the little front splitters/spoilers, and an aftermarket rear spoiler. It was worth it. The car looks much cleaner. Echoing above, matching the age of your painting would be smart.

I went with gloss black on various parts, roll over hoops, rear valance, OE gloss black grills with body matched rear spoiler and later LCI indicators in gloss black..

Looks good, but frankly I'm surprised you cluttered up the rear flanks with that sticky. What does it say anyway?

They are Ukrainian flags..in respect of my father who was Ukrainian and my support for Ukrainians in their war with Mr Putin… I have others pre ‘flagged’ but was more focussed on showing how gloss black and yellow works… The dull brown rear valance I could ever work out why they did that..

I figured with M performance brakes, M type LSD, M steering linkages, Ohlins coilovers, M2 wheels, M style steering geometry and M performance at 400 BHP it was almost an M..Couldn't find a badge that said' Almost an M' so took the easy route out.
