Changed bad injectors to 12s, oil still smells of fuel?
I'm very confused.. I've replaced all my old/leaky injectors to index 12s and new plugs. Stupid me automatically thought my issue was resolved last year when I replaced my injectors as I knew cyl 1 2 and 5 had leaky injectors. Welp, I changed my oil yesterday and my oil still smelled of fuel and was pretty black as well..
I don't notice any misfires or any performance issues, but I did delete my O2 sensors via catless DPs. I'm really hoping that the piston ring/s aren't blown because I have no idea how long those injectors were leaking as I bought the car with them that way. Only 36k miles on the car, bought it with 20k miles. I run MAG1 5w40 as I live in FL and because running a thicker viscosity should help with blowby. Could it be my shaft seal from the HPFP leaking? I have a hard time believing that it's the injectors again as they're only 10 months old, but possible I guess. Thank god for FCP Euro if that's the case. Any ideas what it could be or where to start? Last edited by Bmurata90; 02-11-2022 at 02:19 PM.. |

Oil can smell like fuel if you're starting and idling it and not driving very much. If there aren't any codes for misfire, if you're not burning oil, if there's no blue smoke from the tailpipes, I think you're probably fine and overthinking it. You can always send out a sample of oil to Blackstone for analysis. They will test to see how much fuel is in there.
