Even with loaners and rentals, we treat them well, seriously. We got a brand new Cadillac with 940 miles from Hertz. I observed my wife parking on an end far away on our trip, which made me realize she looks at it the same way I do, esp. on a new car like that.
As far as rude customers, when I was new on this forum, I remember some guy actually got refused service at BMW Manhattan because he was so rude. He complained to BMWNA, who backed up the fact that he was banned. LOL |

Who doesn't wear shorts? It's 100 with heat index at 110+ for a week so far, everybody is naked down here lol.
I have a 4, M6 and 7 (and bought a 5 and traded) from the same dealer in less than 12 months and took me a MONTH to get my M6 in for a 10000 mile service. I bitched, and took it to another dealer. I could have called my sales guy and he would have Hooked me up, hell the GM lives in my neighborhood, but I let it roll. |

I have seen people let their expensive Car Key fobs hang out of their pocket/Hand bags while the rest of the keys were inside..Major Douche if you ask me. "look at all the cool material shit I got" also attracts a lot of unwanted attention and has caused some robberies in those Communities typically targeting Gold and Cash.. |

Good God... People know me to hate Korean cars, but even if I pulled up to The Auto Gallery in a Lambo Huracan and they gave me a Kia Rio, I'll be happy.
Your average non-luxury brand will NEVER give you a loaner, and CarMax is VERY subjective; I could do $700 of repairs and not get GRANTED or OFFERED a loaner, but just an ECU reflash since the key was improperly programmed for another car I had would get one... A Mitzy Lancer ES with a strong cigarette reek and sticking transmission. On that same car when the warranty was out, I only paid $11 per day for insurance for a rented Corolla... Back to my E90, when I had to take my car to Monrovia BMW they loaned me a brand new 4er AND washed my car for what became a frickin' PRICE QUOTE (I wanted to see if I can get the latest firmware for my car but wound up not taking it since they wanted $$$)... In all instances I was FRICKIN' ECSTATIC! This guy should seriously count his blessings. If he "can't be caught dead in a 5er", coordinate it with me and I'll gladly take that off his hands the next time I need an oil change.

Seems from your recounting that the guy was arrogant, not rude, for he stated only how he'd feel about driving something other than a 7-series, not what he thought about others who choose to drive non-7-series vehicles. But that doesn't make his behavior any less deplorable.
All the best.

I am just an objective reader and what I read didn't indicate rudeness; it indicated arrogance. The two may seem like they are the same things, but they are not. Rudeness pertains to being ill-mannered and willfully offensive. Arrogance pertains to one's own pride and condescension toward others. One can be rude and arrogant, but one can also be arrogant and not rude. Based solely on the OP's text, the latter seems to be what Gary was. All the best. |
