E89 w/ H&R Sport Springs
Hi guys,
I have received a few PMs from forum members regarding the H&R Sport Springs. Here are some figures that may help anyone who is interested in them. I have 235/35 19 for the front and 265/30 19 for the rear. Don't ask me why the radius' are not 25.48" and 25.26". Maybe my tires are flats or maybe my measurement tape is off, but these are the actual measurements from concrete floor to edges of both fenders. In terms of ride quality, I think they're just okay. IMO it isn't too different from stock setup. In fact, they're on the soft side, so don't expect handling improvement from these springs. Your Z4 will still roll like a boat. J LAU

Good that you ask. Surprisingly, I do have Adaptive M Suspensions. I didn't even know until you ask, maybe because I don't really feel the different on the stiffness after sport/sport+.

On my Euro spec 35is I definitely can feel the dampers get more firm going from Sport to Sport+. Increase in cabin rattles and vibrations tells me that alone! Just tested it. Steering response is tighter and so is throttle input. I can't tell any difference in exhaust note though.

As my car is not tracked, the current ride of my Non M Adaptive suspension works for me. I drive the car in Sports + most of the time and somehow feel that there is improved handling/stiffer suspension in sport +, but it may all be in my head. In any case as I plan a drop with H and R springs and I f I can maintain the "SAME" ride and achieve the "look" I will be happy.

I'll chime in too regarding my setup.
Eibach Springs on M adaptive suspension + front and rear H&R swaybars. First pic shows my old setup with 19inch 235/35/19 fronts and 255/30/19 rear. Handles ok, could be better with v3. No rubbing. Good setup for both dry and wet. Ride quality a bit compromised. Second pic is my recent setup with 20inch 245/30/20 fronts and 295/25/20rear. Handles great in the dry, tries to kill me too often in the wet. Could still be a lot better with v3. Rubs for the first couple months lol. Great setup for dry, horrible setup for the wet. Ride quality is highly compromised when tire wears. After going back to the 19inch setup for a couple months, I've concluded that 19's are a better match for this car. Its just more tossable and fun for spirited driving. the 295s on my 20's just doesn't leave much room for fun. If anything snaps, I'm done, especially in the rain. I should also add that I've never experienced this car with run-flats so no comments on that.

Actually there are two suspension settings - one with the roof up, and one with it down (less body roll, less understeer etc)

Anyway, this difference in feel may fool some into thinking that the suspension is also changing modes between sport and sport+. Or perhaps people just "accidentally" happen to drive harder in sport+, causing the suspension to adapt to a stiffer setting within the same mode (I assume this is what continuously adaptive dampers do). |

Brembo 6 pot BBK. Previous owner had it installed. No idea how or where he got it.
