M4 vs tuned Z4
So because apparently I am only 16 years old, I spend a good deal of time comparing times on fastestlaps and was surprised by what I found.
Model / Power / weight / 100-200km/h New M3/4 430hk 1615kg 9s-9.5s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGJZ8b3PLec Corvette C7 466hp 1652kg 10.4 http://www.zeperfs.com/en/fiche4701-...7-stingray.htm Porsche 991s 400hk 1486kg 10.4 http://www.zeperfs.com/en/duel2719-4087.htm Z4 ESS 390hk 1605kg 11.8s (according to my own video) M550dx 380hk 1955kg 12.1s 1M coupe 340hk 1570kg 12.4s (factory claim) Z4 35is 340hk 1605kg 12.5s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRVs1iCitzo M235i 320hk 1560kg 13s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gsbq35yU1ks Z4 35i 300hk 1605kg 13.5s All weights are EU weights and including DCT for the BMWs (not sure about the P and C cars). I am not sure about the data-point for the M550dx, but what a mighty diesel... Anyway, what surprised me was that the M4 making 550NM and 430hp was so much faster than the Z4 ESS stage 2 also making 550NM and 390hp. I knew it would be faster, but not that much faster. Since we do not have any dyno results for the M4 I tried to overlay the various ESS stage 2 dyno results with the graph provided by BMW M Marketing. Here is the result, and it somewhat explains why the M4 is so much faster. I guess dethrottling (upgraded IC and exhaust) is really king! |

The comparison with F8x vs C7 vs 991s is very interesting.
Did both 991s and f8x have Pdk/dct? FBO n54 seems like it traps around 115-116mph so my guess is similar times to stock C7 and 991s |
