Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 vs Pilot Super Sport
I'm on the fence between two tires.
It seems A/S 3 is quite close to summer tire performance in dry/wet/conrnering/handling but add a bit of handling winter weather. we don't have snow but temparature can be below 40F with small chance of below freezing... Any suggestion? Any feedback on A/S 3 for summer performance? Last edited by monster; 04-16-2014 at 03:26 PM.. |

It is going to be worse in summer than summer tires and WAY worse in winter than winter tires.
I think AS should refer to "always sucking" when it comes to tires. |

For what it's worth... I have the A/S 3's and I'm very happy with them.
While I can only compare them to the the stock Bridgestone RFT's... My impressions are... - The highway sound has been cut by 4db's... - The wet grip is GREAT (huge improvement) - The ride is MUCH smoother, less harsh (I can't offer an opinion on snow as I didn't have to venture out in the few snowy days we saw here in the carolinas.) I really don't think you could go wrong with either tire. ps. TireRack has a nice video review of the A/S 3's if you haven't already checked it out...

I'm on 18" rims...
I forgot to mention... Dry grip is also MUCH improved. Basically, they are an improvement on every level (except for being RFT, of course). Again, I can only compare the PS A/S3's to the stock RFTs and NOT to the PSS's, which I'm sure are also fantastic tires. My Z is the only 'modern' (read: dependable) car that I own, however... so "All Season" drivability is a requirement. The Carolinas can see a little bit of all sorts of weather.

review the following matrix showing tire comparisons. Seems like the PSS are top of the line and highest rated.
