A Tuscan farewell...
My father look delivery of his new 2013 X5 and right before he got rid of the "old" one, my wife and I took it for one last trip to the Tuscany. A proper farewell before being replaced!
If you've never visited Tuscany, I can assure you it's one of the most gorgeous places on this earth. I took more than a 1,000 pictures but here are a few that either feature the X5 or some other interesting cars I saw along the way. The X5 you see below is a 2008 and has a 106,000 miles on it. Enjoy! After driving close to 850 miles to get there, the car actually arrived decently clean. I detailed it the day before and slapped a layer of Menzerna PowerLock on there! The fatness... |

Two lane road + M Sport X5 = nervous in the middle of the night... Restore Fiat 600 Waiting to enter the Gothard tunnel. It's 17km long and traffic is only allowed to enter in a staggard fashion. Many cars sit in traffic for hours in the 30C heat. And sometimes, they overheat! Last stop before getting home! Average MPG (US MPG) was 24.5. |

Sweet. I hesitate to visit Tuscany because I'm afraid I won't ever want to come back.

P1et, your scenic pictures are almost all perfectly exposed, but an S-curve in Raw conversion will really bring out the colors without over saturation. Highly recommended...

Dave, thanks for the feedback. Care to shoot me a link that lets me know how to accomplish this? I own Lightroom if that helps.

See page 17 of -Paul-'s 2d link.
You can play with the degree of your S-curve and, once you find it to your liking, save it as a preset. I usually add a little Contrast and some Vibrancy, depending on the subject. I find it particularly important on scenic photography. Apply your S-curve, then use the Contrast slider to deal a little with haze. Also, here's where keeping a UV filter on the lens actually pays a dividend. Dave
