E70 Front Brakes on a E89
Has anyone every looked into putting the front brake set up from a X5M (E70) on an E89? The X5 M features the biggest brakes on a BMW production vehicle; 15.55" (395x36mm) rotors up front clamped by four piston brake calipers. That would be a nice set up and it would be a
bmw set. thanks, Jim |

The thing is, adding larger discs and calipers only on the front changes braking distribution, I would only go for a complete set unless you get better performing materials and calipers with similar spec's as the OEM.

But needless to say after looking into the parts needes, it would be cheaper to go the Brembp route. I was just surprised by the size the brake kit on the X5M when I saw one on a lot today, plus the calipers actually look good. |

396mm calipers would be cool if they wouldn't make ugly scraping noises without the X5 21" rims they require.
