Boarded up some windows (most vulnerable ones) and plan on bracing the garage doors with 2x4s tomorrow once the Z and the Lexus are inside.
Then hopefully we won't lose power on Sunday until after the Belgian GP!

Umm, federal law. Banks can't be closed more than 3 consecutive days, with few exceptions. If the banking site was damaged in a hurricane over the weekend and couldn't open the 3rd day, that's one thing, but they can't close 3 days in a row due to conditions that may result in having to close.

Live directly on the water. Removed all powered water toys, pulled boat lift motors (a pain), tied boat lift to pilings to keep it from doing damage during the surge, etc.
Just off the Chesapeake Bay. Trying to guess how many days we'll be without power but we have a backup gen. Gotta take the good with the bad when you live on the water. |

I built these in 5 minutes with some leftover studs to brace my garage doors:

The hotels generator like blew up at 1am. This is a never ending storm!!! I've received reports that my Z is still safe where I left it although the surrounding areas are pretty much fd. No way to tell if our house is safe yet though.

I think most car dealers would have stored all cars indoor before Irene arrived.

My car's waterproof, so it can withstand some rain.
It's also in the barn, which should protect it from any flying branches.

It's not a major hurricane. The studs are wedged into the floor and keep the garage doors from banging and jumping their rails. So far they're doing their job.

My dealership is a multi luxury car dealership with every luxury brand housed in separate buildings and all of the cars from every brand was moved inside their buildings. They even removed all the cars from the showrooms and put them inside their service garages.

I'm just glad we didn't get hit. All we got was a bit of rain and wind.
