I ordered a sDrive23i M Sport after trying a sDrive30i with standard suspension. Does anyone have a M Sport Z4 with non-adaptive M Sport suspension? How does it compare to the E85 M Sport suspension (same or bit softer)? My car is expected in June.

hi Shadow, sorry i just want to make sure i understand your question because you guys get all these diff choices. if you order M sport package here in the States you automatically get adaptive suspension. are you able to order the M package separate from the adaptive suspension in the UK??

The BMW configuration seems to show the Z4 30i/35i M Sport Package is now only available with Ivory White. I know that wasn't the case before as there were two separate packages. FYI the package code for Ivory White interior is ZWP.
30i and 35i M Sport Package ZMP - w/o Ivory White ZMW - w/ Ivory White See attached snip from the BMW 2011 Z4 MSRP price for base model and all options/packages listing w/ an effective date of Effective January 29, 2010. Can anyone tell me if BMW has changed this options or is it the configurator acting up? Note: I'll likely talk to a dealer about it, and did post a similar message on Bimmerfest's "Ask a Dealer", but the CA's at the local dealership are lucky to know what the hood roundel stands for, not to mention deciphering ordering codes.

I have a 30i with M sports package and 19 inch wheels optioned as well.
I did this purely for the look of the car. Yes, it is not a performance upgrade, but actually, when you break it down, it is a well priced package for what you get. You get sports seats, nicer wheels, adaptive suspension, and then all the little visual enhancements that you may think are silly, but that I like - I like the body kit, the carbon flavoured interior and the discreet M badges on the interior. There is no gawky M badge on the outside making anyone think its an M car, and anyone who sees the exhaust configuration knows its not even a 35i or is! I have seen a few new Z4s around now, and although I think I am totally biased, I am yet to see one that is as nice as mine. I have the metallic black 30i with beige interior, carbon trim, sports seats, and huge 19 inch 326M wheels (ps: 313's are BMW performance, not M sport wheels). I have tinting to the max on my rear and side windows and have the entire car debadged from the factory. I've taken off all the silly dealer stickers, and that's it. Its beautiful! Still working on getting past that 1500km limit before I can show its who's boss, but its plenty fast enough for the streets so far. Will have some photos in 3 weeks time to show yuo what I mean... |

Thanks Vintage. I like the front bumper, could take or leave the rear bumper, and the 325M wheels have grown on me.

At first I wasn't sure but it grew on me and no I do like the M-package.
If I were to order again today I would certainly go for it but with the 19inch 326's. |

WTF BMW...
Really?
No power bump at all with the "M-sport" package? No steering inprovements? No suspension fixes? Car and driver review says: "When pushing the Z4is in the manner for which you assume it’s been designed, the suspension feels lazy and unenthusiastic, even in the most aggressive sport setting." Does the M-sport pack address that? (Hint: no. See title.) Obvious conclusion: this is a marketing-made "appearance package" that doesn't improve the base car the way the M Groupe is supposed to... (see title). It would seem a buyer is better off getting the Sd35is and retrofitting coilovers, a Quaife, a tune, exhaust ( etc etc etc - oh wait, isn't that what an M car should have?) See title. |

"lazy or unenthusiastic" - Z4 (e89). These are 2 terms that don't really belong in the same sentence, regardless of the reference. That entirely subjective comment from C&D elicits the urge to let out a big fat, loud........"Ohh Puleeease". I know I usually have a couple of those while reading through each of their monthly releases. Their objective info is reliable, but their opinions....a select few are just off the wall.
