We have a Z4... and I absolutely love it
But hands down, once our Z4 lease is up in a year or so, we will get the SLK (pending lease programs of course) I love the new SLk, it's a mini SL/SLS

So enlighten us, as an E89 owner.. what exactly do you see that we are missing?? I just want to understand what ppl are seeing other than it's the new kid on the block. And don't just say it looks like an SLS because it's not even close. If that is your reasoning, well then I understand.., you need to get your eyes checked. Does anyone else see a little R2D2 in the MB's projector headlights?

Heck knows that it probably doesn't handle at all as well as the Z4, but you gotta give props to the styling. The Z4's "flow," as many people describe the elongated curves, is just a bit too feminine for my sensibility. The Z4 would be a lovely car for my wife, but I'd rather be seen in the SLK. Of course the M3 trumps both, and that's the forum in which I assimilate your race. Resistance is futile. .

I will wait until I see the SLK in the flesh to compare.
I had to laugh at the video though. Marketing people must live in some sort of weird alternate reality. A world where bugs and insects are magnetically attracted to a car? A possessed demon inside the vehicle telling you to do things? (satnav aside) Design wise - I applaud the sun roof - I have often thought that someone who buys a car with a convertible roof woud appreciate the ability to get the view of the sky / sun all the time. I would in any case. The wind deflector also seems a bit "clip on" to me, not a neat installation. The descision on whether I would own one would depend on how it drove on the road. I think that is the basis of the whole "hairdressers" or "chicks" car classification used by the troglodites of the world. If a car is designed just to look good, then it was classified as one of the above. As in a guy would care less how it looked and a girl / hairdresser would care less how it drove. What we seem to have here in the Z4 forum is a weird cross-over space where we like / need both aspects in a car. Qudos to us then for stepping out of the stereotypes.

They're both beautiful. But the one thing the that Z4 has that the SLK doesn't have are those lines!! It's what attracted me to the Z4 in the first place. I'm a proud owner.

You know, I think everybody is just so surprised that it actually looks better than everybody anticipated. All the spy shots with the camouflouge ... even the people on the SLK forums said it looked ugly and their next car would be a Z4. And then they show the car and althought it's not a #1 or maybe not even a #2, it's at least on 3rd place. I think people are just excited and surprised by that and go "wow, that's not bad ... not perfect, but not bad at all".

disappointing. SLK looks dated from the side, doesnt even look like anythings different besides the front and back. the rear is nice but the front looks weird. Z4 wins
