How much above invoice would a 2011 model year Z4 35i cost?
Hey guys,
I am aiming to order a 2011 model year Z4 35i with M sports package in the very near future. But I am not sure how much realistically I can haggle on the price. First off, the car would have not be from the lot, since the production for the for 2011 model year just started. Any idea how close the final purchase price would be to invoice? Hank |

If there are no add ons this is a very good deal. This is over ED Munich delivery invoice, not US, right?

So what you are saying is that the dealer gets $466 dollars above the cost to him of the car?? How on earth does that dealer stay in business?? This surely wouldn't cover operating expenses, let alone a healthy profit! The dealer would have to do several of these deals a DAY to make it worthwhile, surely? I agree with you, no dealer will stay in business very long selling cars at $466 over their actual cost.

In all honesty when you take everything into consideration I think you are doing good if you can get 3-4% off mfg list. I have dealt with 3 BMW dealers in 3 different parts of the country (US) and the story is usually prretty much the same.
I find it usually easier to go after other items like map updates and similar items covered during the first 4 years.

I didn't shower or shave for a couple of days and put on broken jeans and sneakers and a very old shirt. Got 7%.

Like rmorin said, the dealership get money from BMW above the profit the dealership make on the sale to the customer. ED invoice is 7% cheaper because this is the amount BMW would normally pay to the dealership but since the car doesn't come out of dealer inventory, BMW passes the 7% on to the customer.
I know it seems very low, but I actually paid $466 over ED invoice, including the options I added on. The only fee is title and plates and dealer prep, but those are included in the cost I quoted. If you like the deal I got, call Jeff Sherman at Wide World BMW. He's a nice guy and is handling my ED very well. |

Haha, so you want a ED and a US delivery huh?! Driving the Z4 cross country would be swell, I will do it this year to mark my 10th anniversary in the US of A. It is my American dream to own a nice convertible. |

Oh btw, does anybody know the invoice price of the M package? I know MSRP is 3500, but I couldn't find the 2011 invoice price PDF online anywhere, looks like people took it down? |
