My new baby!
Just a few images to get started.
Had her for a couple of days now and have been very impressed. The engine on the 35i really does sound the business. Can't wait to really open her up once the running-in period is over. |

After 2'000 km I think you should really try to use the whole rev band (with warm engine) to make sure it is run-in nicely. I am also thinking about changing the oil after 2'000 km (even though with today's engines and filters it is not a must any more according to BMW). However I think, it will certainly not be negative to do it anyway. The 5'000 km figure seems a bit high but could be reasonable. |

I actually got a sticker in the manual folder that had the ed symbol and said efficent dynamics. Its actually still in the folder!
The book does say that the tyres, brakes, clutch and engine do take time to reach their 'optimum' state of efficiency and should be used gently until then. The manual give the following timescales: tyres: 200 miles (300km) brakes / clutch: 300 miles (500km) Engine: don't exceed engine speed of 4500 rpm until 1250 miles have been reached. It also says not to use full throttle and automatic gearbox kickdown as well as launch control. The manual also says that Launch Control is ready for operation once the engine is warm - continuous travel for approx 6 miles (10 km). Ahhh ok, it also says it can't be used for a second time until a distance has been travelled after the first go, and also cannot be used until after the running in period (see above). When will the car be "run-in" JJ, so we can see a video of this from you
