Need opinion on how it look
I put up Advan RS II Rim. They only had Hyper Black in stock, so even I was very keen on putting silver wheel on a blue car, I took them. start to have some regret. I figured my car had too much silvery and white elements in the car front and the wheel color just did not match. So, I bought a carbon fiber eye lid. Can anyone advise me the look now? Thanks

I think more close up and front-end pics are needed. The one you provide is too far away so you can't see any difference between the blue hood and the cf eyelid.

I would paint the eyelids to match the color of the car. See below. =]

Looks good to me. Maybe paint the plastic on the bumper and grills darker grey and add the OEM front splitter pieces. Not sure I agree with others on the need to spend for M sport bumper right aware.

I really like the blue colour on a Z4.
Especially with the bright leather, this is a very elegant look. The colour of the wheels also fit to the blue car colour. To enhance the overall look I would paint the silver parts (kidneys and roll bars) in a darker silver/ grey. In this case there would still be the nice contrast to the dark blue and it would fit better to the rim colour. The turn signals I would replace by the LCI ones and paint them in car colour. The silver air intakes in the front I would change against the 4cyl black version (12 €/ pair at BMW). The bars next to the outer air intakes I would paint in car colour. Sample (my former N-front): The eye lids I'd remove. In my opinion, the sporty CF doesn't fit to the elegant blue. |

Thanks folks for the opinion. The wheels are Advan RS II. I bought it purely for its low weight-to-price ratio, not for the look and especially not for the colors. They are one of the lightest of 19 inches. They are forged but it manages to get its weight to that level. Advan RS II actually doesnt look as good as Advan RS I, as they subtract some metal from the sides of the spokes, destroying the original simple, elegant form.
Thanks nuebbes for this post referral, not destroying the thread at all. Sometimes, it is quite hard to search anything about E89- we are the minority. I love your DIY turn signal light and I think it looks better than the 2013 E89! I used to drive an old E85 and since it is a 2.5, the kidney grille is black with silvery edge, not slivery the entire thing like 3.0. I still think that color arrangement is better looking. But since BMW intentionally make such difference, I feel a bit weird to put back that arrangement to my E89 3.5i. Is it a naive thinking? |

i think i know what the problem is. my car is stuck somewhere between elegant and agressive. my car originally looked exactlythe same as the poster when the first launched E89, which is elegant not agressive. but the hyper black is aggressive look while the rest of my car, with all those silvery elements, remains elegant. that is why i am not happy

hi fellow hk'er. I think your car looks great. You're right about being stuck between elegant and aggressive, my suggestion would be to black out all silver pcs that you have ie grill and bumper air vents. I'll post a pic of mine later and maybe we'll meet up someday. Very nice to see another 35 in hk.
btw, if you plan to black out ur license plate, try harder next time lol, its still quite obvious.

The wheel color looks cool with your car !!!
I've got Gunmetal ADVAN RS 19'' on my Red E93 (vert). The best thing about these wheels is the design depth remains same even for the Staggered setup. In my opinion BMW center caps will look better. Again, its just my opinion. |

Original: front 8 et29, rear 9 et40 My ADVAN RS II setup: front 8.5 et35, rear 9.5 et 35 (only choice), thus: Front: outer side same as before, inner side clearance 12mm less Rear: outer extend 11mm, inner side clearance 1mm less. In short, the centre line of the front is smaller while that of the rear is larger. Any other thread(s) discussing about the performance of such setup you can recommend? The only thing good about these Advan wheels is weight-to-price ratio. They are one of the lightest although they are not forged. Advan RS II looks not as good as old Advan RS because they subtract some metal from the sides of the spoke, completely destroyed the cool, simple form of the old Advan RS. |

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=677183 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...=233081&page=2 Yes you are right, center is little deeper for rear, but the overall shape and design is same for front and rear. I've seen these wheels on a car which is tracked regularly, the guy was very happy with them. He has got these wheels for the last 4 years or so. Recently, I got a tire damaged due to potholes, but nothing happened to the wheel, not even out of balance. So far so good...here is the pic of my gunmetal wheels.
