Coding
Anyone know anything about coding? Specifically, I'd like the default suspension setting to be sport mode, so I don't have to select it each time I start the engine.

I don't think it can be done. The people at F30 section are trying to just disable their start/stop function and still hasn't been able to. If you find a way to do it, please let me know, I'd like the default to be the sport mode too.

Get a software update, it will open only if you left it that way. if u closed it, on a restart it remains closed!

Close your screen before you shut down then engine, it should remain closed when you restart (mine does)

Has anyone found a solution to this? It would be really nice to default in Sport Mode. On the same coding topic, has anyone figured out how to disable or lower the seat belt warning sound?

I read that the 2012 models can drop the top while rolling under 25mph. I have a 2012 model it and doesn't allow me -__- so is there any coding fix besides paying 500-600$ for a smart top?

What's the production date of your car ? The rolling top open/close function exists since march 2012.

If it is the warning gong sound or the PDC gong then they can be adjusted in the Idrive menu

I was wondering about this too. I'm a 10/2011 build. Any chance a software update would address this? Mine was updated (because of recall) just after delivery and that didn't do it.

The rolling open and close is only up to 5-10 mph, def not 20 mph, unfortunately. Mine was built in March/April 2012.

if you bring your car in for service within the past year, they will update the software to only allow your vehicle to open and close at 5mph or slower. the reason is to protect the top mechanism from being damage. if your dealership havent touched your car, it still have the old software and it will open/close up to 25mph

That's certainly not the case here in the UK. My car was one of the early ones, a 2009 and that could only open its roof up to 5mph and still can.
New models such as the 20i and 28i made late 2011/early 2012 with a better hydraulic pump can open up to 25mph. |
