Refueling
On p108 of the manual (at least the US-En one), under the heading "Fuel tank capacity", it states "Refuel below a range of 30 miles/50 km; otherwise, engine functions are not ensured and damage may occur." Surely it does not mean wait until the tank only has 30 miles/50 km left before refueling? What exactly does that phrase mean?

That's the same with all cars isn't it? Its for the sedimentation that builds up from impurities from petrol etc.
The grit stays away unless its concentrated at the bottom of the tank. That's how I've always though about it... But I understand what the original poster is saying - it is backwards to what you'd expect...Maybe just a typo. |

The fuel pick up pump is cooled by the fuel in the tank apparently and there have been some reported issues over on 1addicts of when the fuel level gets low, cooling is compromised and can lead to failure of the pump.

The one I'm looking at says:
"Refuel as soon as possible once your cruising range falls below 30 miles/50 km; otherwise, engine functions are not ensured and damage can occur." They don't want your fuel levels to drop that low.

teagueAMX, you have the better-worded manual! Mine is crazy...I thought I was dyslexic, reading that passage over and over and it still didn't make any sense. |

Mine says the same, I also downloaded one from the US site in pdf format. It's quite handy on the computer...
