Suggestions for rims?
I have a black 2009 sDrive35i with an ivory white interior and I want to put new rims on it and its a decision that I want to get right. I love my Z4 and I want it to look really good so picking the correct rims is all the more important. I have the factory style 293 rims (18 inches) which are really nice but somehow not good enough over the long run. I may choose to upgrade to 19 inch rims but I want to get the style down first; any suggestions? Pictures would be nice as I am someone who needs to see things first
Thanks! |

Well, there are countless options for wheels out there, so it really boils down to what you like.
Contrast is always good, as you already know getting the black on white option. So youre going to want to go with a light colored wheel. I wouldnt do the black on black thing unless youre gonna murder the whole car out. I would get something in a Machined or brushed finish. If you get lips def get polished step lips. You can get an open wheel like a 5 spoke, or a mesh wheel like a 10 or 12 spoke. Depends what you like. Look at high-end wheel manufacturer's websites to get ideas on styles. Another factor is cost, how much are you willing to spend? You can get a 1pc cast wheel(cheapest), a 2or3pc forged wheel or a Monoblock forged wheel.(lightest/expensive) Get 19s, 18s are a lil small and leave too much unsightly wheel gap. Go wide or Go home. Dont be scared to run a lower offset and wider wheel, poking the wheel a lil past the fender with a slightly stretched tire. As long as you dont go too overboard it wont affect it. Again, these are just my opinions, they may or may not comply with your tastes.

I agree, 313s and 326 are dope.
And if youre willing to get replicas, you can get a set of Miro 942s(313) for about 749 shipped! http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=600683

@rob: what's your website? I'll definitely take a look!
I don't want chrome or something like that but I don't want black either because I do want contrast. In terms of the style of the rim, because the stock breaks aren't that big (the disks), I want a rim with a good amount of substance but not mesh. Also, I do agree the 19s would look great but I don't want to compromise ride quality so I'm a bit hesitant to do something like that, so I may settle for an 18 inch rim where the spokes look like they're touching the tire to make it look bigger if you catch my drift. |

I like them very much because they are similar to the 296 19" OEM, hence match the car style. Here a couple of pics.

javol - those look great.
as for me, I would go OEM or BBS only. Also, 19" is a must for me but that is personal preference (I think 20s are just too big). So, as for OEM I love the 313s and on eBay there is a set for about $2600. BBS forged, I want the LM-Rs, but at nearly $5k for wheels only, I just can't bring myself to do it. Do you want all four the same size or staggered? |

I have a set of 35is OEM 19" wheels collecting dust in my garage. If interested in buying them shoot me a PM. They only have about 200 miles on them as they were removed right after I took delivery.
