Z18i(eu), Z28i,Z35i,Z35iS
My Roundel magazine arrived yesterday. It made a few declarations that I missed in discussions here about the 2014 Z4.
1) Europe gets a detuned N20 as the Z18i with 156bhp in addition to the current N20 version with 240bhp in the Z28i. 2) The Z35i has the N55engine,but they quote N54 hp/tq values as we know 300/300. 3) The Z35iS has the N54 engine, 335/332 hp/tq. 4) New metallic colors Mineral grey, Glacier silver and the Hyper Orange package pictures we know with Valencia orange replacing Citrus yellow package. I also learned that "Z" stands for Zukumft, meaning Future auf Deutsch. Nice 5 page pictorial......just not sure about N55 being in a Z or not.

Well, I'm not surprised. 335i went that way, so I figured Z4 is to follow.

Some on the 3er forums suggest that the heads and turbo are different across the various N20 equipped cars and other details such as smaller brakes make it more worthwhile to get the 28i in the first place as opposed to try to bring the 20i up to that level Did you come across more details ? |
