Bringing back this old thread. I have a couple basic questions - just hoping to get some advice.

We just got a 2014 35i M Sport and are thinking of changing out the tires for comfort. Looks like the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires are the most recommended/highly rated - though we are open to other suggestions if you have them.

Our current tires are:
F: 225/40-18
R: 255/35-18

I see some folks replaced their tires with 19s or with wider tires. I hope these aren't dumb questions - but how does a wider or larger tire fit on the same rim? What does going with a bigger tire do for the ride? What's the advantage?

Any specific recommendations?
