I had four of them in total. All mine had the 2.0L Formula Ford Pinto engine and a Getrag 4-speed. All in it was a great car for a 16 year old. Taught me to appreciate DIY'ing, which I am still heavily into to this day. It had big drum brakes on the rear axle, which led one to easily master the art of bootleg turns. So the Ford Pinto is a life legacy car for me. The Toyota Corolla of the same era was responsible for more fire deaths than the Pinto. Ralph Nader is just a dickhead IMO. Keep in mind it was small 2,000 pound car existing in an age of 5,000 pound Cadillacs and people driving around smoked up on weed, ludes, and cheap beer.
