There is a way!
You can unlock the roof from the open position! there are 2 screws you have to remove. this will allow the locking hooks to pass by and let you manually move the roof out of the trunk. Ofcoarse this is assumng you have released the fluid pressure from pump. Im a mechanic and just worked on a 2009 BMW Z4 with top stuck opened all the way and locked in. with lid opened near headrests in trunk there are 2 torx screws to remove
