Just look at the business side of the unit in the garage...there's generally at least one wire or a switch on the unit..and frequently a button marked "learn". On a Chamberlain it's usually purple or bright green. They are generally quite obvious.

Press the Learn button on the unit, run to the car within 30 sec and press the button on the car and hold it until (IIRC) quick blinks happen (but check the manual). Let go. Done.

Google "learn button on garage door control" and go to "images" - lots of pix there of learn buttons so you have an idea of what you're looking for.
