I just did this. It's easy. You need to remove the plate but not the 2 bars.

Drive the car to get the diff oil warm. Jack the car up and put it on 4 jack stands. The car must be level.

I forgot what size socket you need for the bolt (14mm?), but you will also need a 6" extender so that you can back the wrench away from the diff.

You will also need a suction gun to remove the oil (no drain plug, only fill plug). Go to Home Depot and buy the same size tubing that comes on the suction gun, but longer. Replace the tubing on the gun with this longer piece. You should get very close to 1 quart of oil out of the diff.

Finally, you will need a pump to pump the new oil into the fill hole. Refill with 75W-90 gear oil until it starts dribbling out of the hole.
